Actually, the full story is Robert Venturi sold the site of this late ’60s beach house to a new owner who planned to tear it down. Ergo, he decided to bring it along when he and his wife relocated to Glen Cove, New York.

Robert Venturi was the architect, not home owner. He didn't decide to move since he died a few years ago. The current owner moved the house to save it from developers who only were interested in the land and would have torn down this historiacally significant house (Venturi's second commisssion).

Are you sure he's dead? I can't find it online anywhere. Thanks bat.

robert venturi is definitely not dead. he and his wife live in philly, and did not relocate to long island.
