Gwen Stefani as a band kid? Look at that glamour shot! She would have been popular regardless of her musical inclination.

Actually, if you’ve ever seen any No Doubt biographies, Gwen Stefani is a self described nerd. She was in her brother’s band at 16 (No Doubt) and they weren’t considered “cool”. If you look back at your yearbook you’ll notice that the people who were gorgeous weren’t necessarily popular. Popularity was determined by some unknown force pre-puberty.
