Don’t be fooled by a decline in TV ratings; audiences still love awards shows, according to The Wrap, they just prefer to get their coverage online, the morning after. They even have proof: “This year’s Golden Globes ceremony failed to resonate with TV audiences — the NBC show delivered its second-worst ratings since 1995, averaging 14.6 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. But online, Yahoo!’s omg, the company’s celebrity gossip and news site, recorded 7.2 million unique visitors and 300 million page viewers the day after the Globes aired.”

Side note: How did we never notice before that Yahoo! has a site called “omg”? Wow. Moving on…
