50 Graphic Designers Reinterpret 50 State Mottos

Do you know what your state’s motto is? If you’re scratching your head right now, then you’re certainly not alone. “50 and 50” is an ongoing project where fifty designers from across the US will each illustrate their state’s motto; Brooklyn-based designer Dan Cassaro came up wit the idea as “an attempt to construct a handsome new way of looking at our country,” or, as he calls it, a “designer’s atlas.” So far, only five states are up on the website, but artists have already been lined up for all of the rest, and new designs are set to debut weekly.
