Today at Flavorpill, we said our farewells to Blender Magazine and felt bad for our friends cut from the New York Times. We thought Padma’s burger commercial was more gluttonous than sexy — but that’s Hardee’s for you. We loved crazy old Roger Ebert even more thanks to nostalgic talk of his “Drunch” days. We gawked over some powerful images from Mexico’s drug war. We got excited for Treme, the latest drama from David Simon, creator of The Wire; it’s based in post-Katrina New Orleans. We chortled over the fact that the New Yorker‘s Book Bench blog blamed Stephanie Meyer for the vampire outbreak at Boston Latin. We were frightened by the prospect of a Nikki Finke/HuffPo mashup. We contemplated Rihanna’s new ink. And finally, we couldn’t wait to go see our friend Chris Diken of Radical Dads (who wrote this and this and this and this) play at Cake Shop. It should be a real facemelter.
