$1.5 million? for a loft that in the 80′s was probably squated by real artists– 2,500 SF is enough space to house at least six starving artists if not more. Lofts have become the SUVs of housing, taking up way too much room per person and using too much energy.

and that intro photo of Karl Lagerfeld’s loft space–fashion designers aren’t real artists either; Coco Chanel herself said that fashion wasn’t art but a business– anyone who stacks books doesn’t really read them; it may be trendy, but it’s all intellectualism by association. Using books to decorate is a hypocritical abomination.
