hehe, inviting negative criticism is what i do. Seriously though, I don't think it's about stopping nerds in their tracks so much as pointing out that the field of "snob" records is actually pretty small and selective. Just as very specific things are in vogue for a time in the mainstream, a lot of record collector circles gravitate to the same things. The point is: in a world with instant access to so many records, anyone can "out-obscure" anyone else with just a little research.

It's always fun to see lists of possibly overlooked records like this. At the same time tho, you're kind of inviting the negative criticism with a premise of a list that will stop all music nerds in their tracks.

Gimme a break. Using the actual release date is EXACTLY what a real music nerd would do. Plus, if you look carefully, the original recording year is actually part of the title, so that's TWO boo-boos on you!

Puhleeze. no REAL music nerd uses the release for lost and live records when original recording dates are available.

Uh oh... A record nerd post and you get the title of the Sam Cooke album wrong. ' 'Night Beat' ' is perhaps Sam Cooke's softest and most beautiful "watered down" albums. Live At Harlem Square is the album you are speaking about, the image is right, just need to change the heading.
