Today at Flavorpill, we felt kind of depressed after watching the cast of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory reunite on the Today Show, 40 years later. We thought that Ed Harris made a pretty decent John McCain in this still from HBO’s upcoming film Game Change. We were impressed by io9′s Game of Thrones-inspired Monopoly board. We weren’t too surprised to hear that James Franco had Brad Renfro’s name carved into his right arm with a switchblade, and documented the whole thing for a project associated with the Venice Biennale — but haven’t his limbs been through enough already ? We were bummed to discover that we won’t find out who the new boss is on The Office until after the season is over. We couldn’t wait to see what Seth MacFarlane does now that he’s been given a green light to reboot The Flintstones. We tuned in to the first installment of the A.V. Club’s new pop-culture travel show, “Pop Pilgrims.” We couldn’t believe that couple would name their child after the “Like” button on Facebook. And finally, we were intrigued by thew news that Jim Jarmusch is making a “crypto-vampire love story” that’s set “against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangiers.” Even more interesting? Tilda Swinton, Michael Fassbender, and Mia Wasikowska have all signed on to play vampires.
