In Potholes , an amusing photo series by Canadian husband and wife team Claudia Ficca and Davide Luciano that we spotted over on designboom, ugly holes in the streets of Los Angeles, Montreal, and New York City are repurposed and transformed into everything from a swimming pool to a doughnut fryer. Their inspiration: “After a sudden collision with a canyon sized crater of a pothole we decided to channel our frustration into a positive project where the useless pothole would be a source of humor and creativity.” Considering that due to traffic constraints the shoot time for each of these images was less than 10 minutes from start to finish, we’re really impressed by the results.
