AsI was saying, funny thing about Jerry Casale. He was a pathological liar in the 1970'sand not much has changed. Allow me to elucidate: The first lawsuit Devo experienced was when Warners sued the band for breach of contract for signing with Virgin Records; that's part of the reason Warner's didn't like Devo.

Casale sued me BEFORE I sued the band. When I approached his attorneys concerning his theft of intellectual property, their response was to sue me in Superior Court in California seeking declaratory relief. I then sued them in US District Court the Northern District oh Ohio. They transferred their suit from state court in California to US District Court in the Southern District of California. They tried to force the suit to be tried in California; the courts said: Nope. Then they tried to disqualify my lawyer; courts said: Nope. Then they flew Elliot Roberts to Cleveland to threaten me. That didn't work either.

The Tape: In 1974 at the premier of the first Devo movie, a high school kid interviewed Devo and mefor his high school newspaper. When the kid asked: Who came up with Devo, Mark Mothersbaugh and Allen Myers said: Bob Lewis. Can't really tell how this 16 year old kid "tricked" Mark. Then Casale alleges I tried to get an injunction to prevent them from touring or recording. Never happened. I specifically did not seek injunctive relief so as not to harm the band.

I notice Casale is also whining about McDonald's. To recap: Jerry sued McDonalds for putting an Energy DOme on New Wave Nigel, Casale pinned out and when McDonald'smade a nuisance settlement with him for using a version of the Dome they "forced"him to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Poor baby. When Devo's lawyers told them to settle with me because they were getting their ass kicked, they made me sign just such anon-disclosure agreement, which is the reason I have never disclosed the amount of the settlement.
