Gallery: Dorothea Lange’s Harrowing Depression-Era Photography

July 1939. Gordonton, North Carolina. “Country store on dirt road. Sunday afternoon. Note kerosene pump on the right and the gasoline pump on the left. Rough, unfinished timber posts have been used as supports for porch roof. Negro men sitting on the porch. Brother of store owner stands in doorway.”

[...] Loving the beautiful depression era photography by Dorthea Lange found here: http://flavorwire.com/198252/gallery-dorothea-langes-harrowing-depression-era-photography/11#post_bo... [...]

Just as excited to hear about this Fincher biopic project as I was hearing about Michael Mann's upcoming biopic of Robert Capa and his girlfriend photographer Gerda Taro(so far it's rumored that Andrew Garfield and Gemma Arterton have been cast). Wonder if anyone will make a movie adaptation of Just Kids' Robert Mapplethorpe and Patti Smith. If so, I vote for Julian Schnabel to direct.

Beautiful. Great selection.

She is one of my favourite photographers. Her photos have always intrigued me.
