Have you ever wondered what it would look like if the pixelated world of The Secret of Monkey Island, a game that we spent much of the early ’90s obsessing over, crossed paths with Vincent Van Gogh’s 1888 masterpiece Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum, Arles, at Night? How about the idea of Leisure Suit Larry strolling into the diner from Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks? Or perhaps an 8-bit Indiana Jones crusading through Dali’s Persistence of Memory? We hadn’t considered any of the above until we came across the work of London-based graphic designer Aled Lewis over on Super Punch. Click through to get a look at a few of the crazy mash-ups that he created for the most recent installment of iam8bit’s annual group art show, which is up through September 10 in Los Angeles.
