I went through some of this training before my deployment to Iraq. It was very helpful. There was always different scenarios, you would patrol through these little towns with your squad and would have an interpreter by your side the whole time. There would be meeting with the leaders of the village that actually only spoke in Arabic so you would have to put your skills to work. Making sure you ask the right questions and that you were getting genuine answers. Even though you're on American soil it feels as though you're in another world at the time.
