What’s On at Flavorpill: The Links That Made the Rounds In Our Office

Today at Flavorpill, we wondered what the Oxford English Dictionary has against poor, defenseless cassette tapes. We hoped that Rise of the Planet of the Guidos never becomes a real thing (you never know these day). We watched a real-life version of Pac-Man take over the streets of Germany. We took a quiz to determine what the perfect city is for us. We were fascinated by this Paris Review piece on Frida Kahlo’s painted plaster corsets. We wished Staten Island a very happy 350th birthday. We were excited to hear that Google’s Street View service has been adapted to work on the Amazon River. We watched an amazing time-lapse video of the incredibly slow progress on the National September 11 Memorial. We were impressed by Ryan Gosling’s peace making skills. We were happy to learn that Michael Vick’s former dog-fighting mansion is set to become a dog sanctuary. And finally, we discovered an even better reason to be jealous of Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen than their good looks: According to Forbes, they’re the celebrity couple who made the most money between May 2010 and May 2011.
