The Machines Are Winning: Fan Art Inspired by Sidney Lumet

Share:

As our friends over at Slashfilm point out, there are certain filmmakers whose work inspires loads of fan art — Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, we’re looking at you. Then there are other, equally talented directors who for whatever reason seem to get the shaft. You can now take Sidney Lumet’s name off that list thanks to a new tribute show going up this week at Denver’s Laundry on Lawrence; a group of emerging young artists — inspired by modern film classics like Network, 12 Angry Men, Dog Day Afternoon, and Serpico — have created original posters that, as of Saturday, will be available for purchase online at Kingdom of Nonsense. Considering that when Lumet died earlier this year he had been nominated for over 40 Academy Awards, we think it’s nice to see him finally getting some much-deserved attention from pop culture art community.
