For anyone who’s never seen Rob Reiner’s 1987 film The Princess Bride, consider this your spoiler alert. For everyone else, you’ll remember that the Dread Pirate Roberts is actually the nom de guerre of Princess Buttercup’s true love, Westley (Cary Elwes). Though not so dreadful onscreen, as a pirate, he had the reputation of never leaving anyone alive.
