Today at Flavorpill, we enjoyed Marco Kaye’s hilarious “What It’s Like Being President, Metaphorically Speaking” over on McSweeney’s. We geeked out over this circuit-board skull by Graham Rudge from the Yukon School of Visual Arts. We saw what Nicki Minaj looked like in music videos before she turned into a doll. We learned just how old, white, and male the average member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences really is. We were amused by a few of these slightly skewed movie descriptions. We streamed the School Of Seven Bells’ third album, Ghostory, which is due out on February 28th from Ghostly. We were happy to see China Mieville and and Jo Walton among this year’s Nebula Award finalists. We discovered that Magic: The Gathering is experiencing quite the comeback at meetups around the city. We found out what it would be like to spend the day as an extra on Game of Thrones. We were glad that they no longer display premature babies in incubators at Coney Island. We weren’t surprised at all to hear that Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is a fan of Sex and the City and Glee. And finally, we were thrilled by so many of the pieces in H&M’s latest designer collaboration with Marni; the line debuts in stores and online on March 8th.
