Today at Flavorpill, we wanted to play with these wind-up toys based on characters from The Wire. We loved this giant set of gifs created from Oscar loser reaction shots. We found out that the melon cat ‘do is the new helmet hair trend. We uncovered the eight most opulent gifts in the Oscar swag bag. We performed an awesome chemistry experiment. We watched a new, mesmerizing performance from Merce Cunningham dancers Silas Reiner and Rashaun. We read Virginia Woolf’s film criticism piece. We had a giggle fit over this man in a gold lamé suit surfing on a flying alligator. We enjoyed some photos of Steve McQueen riding a motorcycle. We were impressed by this 17-year-old’s 3D drawings. We caught up on the Arts and Labor/Whitney Biennial prank. And finally, we met the actress who will play a young Carrie Bradshaw for the CW’s Sex and the City prequel pilot, The Carrie Diaries. We wonder what Sarah Jessica Parker’s thinking about all this.
