Today at Flavorpill, we learned about the faulty science behind Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. We agreed that the Oscar red carpet is too Mean Girls most of the time. We participated in BuzzFeed’s Bodega Cocktail Challenge. We felt nonlinear to the max looking at this Memento timeline graphic. We listened to Andrew Bird’s Break It Yourself. We looked up when we came across this montage of Quentin Tarantino films. We transformed just about everything we could into a silent film using “The Artistifier.” We liked the new Cannes Film Festival poster featuring Marilyn Monroe, but still prefer last year’s image of Faye Dunaway. We browsed the New York Times‘ new vintage photo Tumblr. We watched the 1949 film version of The Great Gatsby. We saw the Jolie-Pitt twins. And finally, we desperately wanted to play Downton Abbey: The Gathering. It’s probably a good thing that most card-based RPG games don’t involve lavish period dramas or we’d be World of Warcraft-style addicted.
