Readers, are you sick of hearing about Mad Men yet? Well, too bad, because today brings some irresistibly intriguing news about showrunner Matthew Weiner. He’s written and is set to direct his first feature film! And it’s a road-trip movie with a cast full of comedians! You Are Here, which will begin shooting in May, stars Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson as childhood pals who journey back home together after Galifianakis’ “bi-polar man-child” character, Ben, learns about the death of his father. Amy Poehler is currently in talks to play Ben’s sister. In a press release, Weiner called the film “my passion for eight years” — meaning that the project actually pre-dates Mad Men. We’re not going to speculate on whether he was also implying that he cares more about You Are Here than the TV show, but it’s interesting to think about, isn’t it? [via Deadline]
