As we’ve previously noted, movie poster design can be a bit repetitive, with studios opting to use the same colors, fonts, and figure placements over and over and over again instead of challenging their audience with something that’s new. Perhaps that’s why these 8-bit film posters by Denver-based graphic designer Eric Palmer manage to feel so fresh; sure, they’re a nostalgic nod at the classic video games of the past, but they also manage to avoid the movie poster clichés that we’ve grown so tired of seeing at the cineplex.
