As much as we’d like to report that Joey Ramone has been resurrected, proving once and for all that he’s the one true messiah, that unfortunately is not the case. But, as the posthumous careers of Biggie and Tupac have taught us, death doesn’t necessarily stop a musician from putting out new music. And so it is that today brings the first cut from …ya know?, a compilation of Ramone’s never-released material produced by his brother, Mickey Leigh, and early Ramones collaborator Ed Stasium. While “Rock ‘N Roll Is the Answer” may not be a lost classic, it wouldn’t have been out of place on an old-school Ramones record, it’s rollicking and catchy enough to be worthy of a barroom sing-along, and it sure is nice to hear Joey praising the gods of rock one last time. We couldn’t really ask for more than that. The track will be released as a single on Record Store Day (April 21st), and …ya know comes out May 22nd. Listen to the song at Spinner and let us know what you think.
