Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson Sign on for ‘Sin City’ Sequel

This time last week we were excited to report that after what felt like forever, production on Robert Rodriguez’s long-promised followup to Sin City (which he will again helm alongside of creator Frank Miller) was finally about to begin. Today, Digital Spy reports that two of the original film’s stars — Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson — have agreed to return to Basin City and reprise their respective roles of Marv and Gail.

That still leaves a big fat question mark surrounding Clive Owen. When asked about the status of the project just last month, he told Moviefone, “I know nothing about it. You probably know more than me.” Perhaps he was playing coy or holding his cards close to his chest, but given the fact that Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be based on the second installment in Miller’s dark graphic novel series — a story fronted by Owen’s Dwight McCarthy character — it seems to us like his involvement in the sequel is a must. What do you think?
