We were delighted to be offered some images from Minutemen/fIREHOSE/Stooges bassist and general music industry gentleman Mike Watt’s new photo memoir On and Off Bass to share with Flavorwire readers. We weren’t quite sure what to expect when the images were sent to us, but we kinda assumed Watt’s photos would be along the lines of intimate backstage shots, flight cases, portraits of fellow musicians, etc. We couldn’t have been more wrong, though — because it seems that the man’s eye is largely caught by animals. Sea birds, specifically. He clearly spends a fair amount of time visiting the waterfront of the cities he visits, and his images catalog these animals and the landscapes they inhabit. We really rather like them — what do you think, dear readers?
