Fun and excitement is the name of the game when you go on picnics. Considering the current economic situation, it is but normal to want to save money. A good old fashion picnic is a superb way to save and have fun.. Also, typically most kids love the outdoors, so picnics are a great match. Hey, grab your picnic baskets and enjoy.

great post. love some of those ideas. other less unusual ideas that are my favorites include socrates garden/noguchi museum in lic, rockefeller park at battery park city and then the park at the bottom of dumbo under the manhattan bridge, as well as the new strip of park along the williamsburg waterfront. and of course, there is the boring but always great central park. and i put together some ideas as to where to get food for a central post outing here. http://cherrypatter.com/2009/06/mini-guide-centra...
