Last week, we expressed some concern about what was going on with Rye Rye. An electrifying ball of Baltimore club energy onstage, she’s released singles over the years, but her debut full-length album has been in the works since 2008. Thankfully, considering that listening parties are already being held, we’re fairly confident that Go! Pop! Bang! really will see the light of day next week. The latest shred of evidence comes in the form of “Rock Off Shake Off,” a bouncy, synthy new single that’s one of four M.I.A. collaborations on the album. Give it a listen at The Hairpin and consider that if it doesn’t put a smile on your face this Thursday morning, you may need to see a professional.
