HBO and VICE Teaming Up on News Magazine Show

Have you ever wished that there was more TV coverage of Satanic dentists in the Pacific Northwest, New York’s underground voodoo heroin clinics, or Taliban child suicide bombers? Well then, you’re in luck. HBO and VICE are partnering up on a new weekly news magazine show that, according to the press release we just received, “will showcase a mix of stories from around the globe,” with segments on the aforementioned topics already in production. VICE co-founder Shane Smith, who previously described the series as “60 Minutes for young people,” will act as its host, while also serving alongside Eddy Moretti (VICE’s chief creative officer) and Bill Maher as one of the show’s executive producers. If you remember, VICE partnered with MTV back in 2010 on a short-lived (and very similar sounding) show called The VICE Guide to Everything that also centered around Smith, so we’re intrigued to see how this one turns out. How about you?
