Amazing Wooden Pin Portraits of Cultural Icons

Give the man some wooden pins, a few pairs of sunglasses, and the right lighting, and you won’t believe what Swedish photographer Philip Karlberg is capable of. “A couple of months ago I came up with an idea I have had in mind for years,” he says of his fantastic Pin Art project. “I just did not know what I could use it for. But then I did a test with sunglasses, and it really turned out great. So I sent an image with the test to Plaza Magazine, and a week later I started shooting. It was a real challenge to ‘sculpt’ the faces of some classic wearers of sunglasses. It took me six days to shoot the six faces, and around 1,200 sticks were used.” Click through to find out if you’re able to correctly identify all of his famous subjects; bonus points if you’re also able to pick out who designed their frames.
