10 Fictional Characters Who Love Doughnuts

Share:

Did you know that today is National Doughnut Day? No, seriously! It’s a real thing! Apparently back in 1938 the Salvation Army decided that the first Friday in June should be set aside to honor the women who served soldiers on the front lines doughnuts during World War I. Today, it means that you can score free eats at various Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kremes, and Tim Hortons across the country. To go along with your glazed/jelly/old-fashioned/sprinkled goodie of choice, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite doughnut-loving characters from pop culture, from Buster Bluth to Liz Lemon. Let us know who we missed in the comments!

1. Buster Bluth from Arrested Development

Evidently this is what happens when you enroll in a THC study.

2. Homer Simpson from The Simpsons

When you sell your soul to the devil for a doughnut, you end up in Doughnut Hell. When you’re Homer Simpson, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

3. Liz Lemon from 30 Rock

Let us not forget, this is a woman who believes that a microwaved doughnut is the greatest dessert in the world.

4. Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks

The jelly ones are his favorite.

5. Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation

“Doughnuts, go nuts.” This is what happens when Ron Swanson has sex.

6. Tony Stark from Iron Man 2

“Stark, I’m going to have to ask you to exit the doughnut!”

7. Droopy from Mr. Show

“The Last Donut” skit is a Mr. Show classic, mostly because we can’t get enough of David Cross’ incredibly obnoxious character, The Luddite. His response when poor, bleeding-from-the-ear Droopy offers him some nosh? “No. I don’t eat doughnuts. Or hamburgers. Or any other food that has approval of the masses.”

8. Xander Harris from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

“Respect the cruller and tame the doughnut.”

9. Dexter Morgan from Dexter

An easy to make sure that no one at the Miami Metro Police Department figures out you’re a serial killer: be the doughnut guy.

10. Miranda Hobbes from Sex and the City

We don’t know about you, but we never looked at Krispy Kreme doughnuts the same way after this episode aired. Blech.
