Does it feel like ages ago now that you heard “Bad Girls,” the first release from M.I.A.’s fourth album? That’s because it was. In the months since January we’ve been eagerly waiting to hear more from Maya Arulpragasam about her forthcoming LP, but for the most part it has been radio silence — until now. Stereogum tipped us off to the fact that the indie/pop star made some big announcements about the album via Twitter today, including the fact that the new release will arrive in December, sounds a bit like “paul simon on acid,” won’t include feature any collaborations, and doesn’t have a set tracklist at this point — “could be 5 [songs] it could be 15 depends on what sounds good in my bros CAR.” Not exactly the official announcement that we were hoping for, but we suppose for now it will have to do!
