Breathtaking Shots of Exploding Paint

We can all probably agree that with very few exceptions, watching paint dry is pretty boring. But how about watching paint explode? That’s a completely different story. In their series Paint Pigment Photographs, which was inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi, the London-based husband and wife artistic duo of Rob and Nick Carter capture vibrant bursts of color against a backdrop of pale blue sky. The end result is images of what looks like technicolor clouds of smoke. They’re quite lovely, really. Click through for a slideshow of candy-colored explosions, which we spotted thanks to designboom.
