Breaking Bad’s beloved Badger, actor Matt Jones, is giving up the meth trade for a turn as a beet farmer on The Office spin-off, The Farm. THR reported that the shaggy-haired Jones would play Rainn Wilson’s “mysterious cousin,” Zeke. Jones’ experience as a lovable, but somewhat bungling, drug dealer on the AMC series should come in handy for his new, elusive role.
We’ll first see Jones in a season nine episode of the The Office, as part of the spin-off’s back-door pilot. If The Farm gets picked up as a series, Jones would be a regular on the show. The Farm expands on Wilson’s shrewd Schrute as a bed-and-breakfast proprietor, beet farmer, and business park owner (the gardens surrounding the Scranton, Pennsylvania paper company, of course). Does Jones inspire more excitement for the potential new series?
