The Best Married Comedy Power Couples

Share:

Have you heard the news? This past weekend, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt had a baby boy. Of course, imagining Chris Pratt with anyone other than Aubrey Plaza seems a little wrong (like most, we have trouble grappling with the fact that Parks and Recreation isn’t real life), but we trust that these two will raise one hell of a funny kid. Inspired by this silly couple, we’ve gathered a list of the best married comedy power duos (in no particular order) — because, well, those still mourning Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s relationship should probably just celebrate these worthy couples instead. Check ’em out after the jump, and hit the comments to let us know which silly married team is your all-time favorite.

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt

Ah, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt. These two got hitched in 2009 and just welcomed their baby, Jack, into the world. In response to recent well-wishes, Pratt tweeted, “In lieu of gifts we ask that you mouth kiss a stranger.” Pratt’s Twitter also recently told us that he and Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste are super tight, and that’s a great friendship right there.

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally

Here we have Ron and Tammy — er, Nick and Megan. Yes, this list of comedy couples has a disproportionate amount of Parks and Recreation cast members, but it’s not our fault they all have impeccable taste in hilarious lovers. Seriously, how awesome is this couple?

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz

How could we have a list of married comedy couples without Lucy and Desi? With I Love Lucy, these two certainly paved the way for silly married duos, despite their 1960 divorce.

Will Arnett and Amy Poehler

Oh, how we love these two. Will and Amy were married in 2003 and have two young sons — Abel James Arnett and Archibald William Emerson Arnett. Solid names, eh? Check out the head of hair on Abel — their kids really couldn’t be any cuter. If only they could adopt us…

Portia DeRossi and Ellen DeGeneres

We’d imagine this couple is the best to be around — Ellen is the sweetest and Portia makes us feel all warm and fuzzy in an Arrested Development kind of way, if that makes any sense.

Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen

Although Ted Danson is currently a C.S.I. regular, and there’s nothing particularly hilarious about that, the actor got his start making his laugh on Cheers, and was seriously amusing as the scene-stealing George Christopher on HBO’s Bored to Death. And Mary Steenburgen is clearly the queen of funny movie moms. Also: Remember that time Ted Danson was Tim and Eric’s “Little Danson Man“?

Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann

Boy, would we love to be Maude or Iris Apatow — those two have some of the funniest parents out there. Hit up one of our favorite guilty pleasures for an inside peek at the Apatow family through the eyes of a 14-year-old.

Rob McElhenny and Kaitlin Olson

It’s always fun to tell clueless It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans that Rob McElhenny and Kaitlin Olson are married. When we first found out, we were equal parts shocked and pleased. Honorable mention: Always Sunny’s Charlie Day and Mary Elizabeth Ellis (“the waitress”).

Steve Carell and Nancy Walls

Steve Carell and Nancy Walls, sometimes known as The Office’s Michael and Carol, have been married since 1995. They have two children — Elisabeth and John — who have done a pretty great job at staying out of the spotlight, since we weren’t even sure if they had kids. As it turns out, they do, and we’re sure they’re awesome.

Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara

Younger readers might know these two as Ben Stiller’s parents, but they’re also a legendary — not to mention adorable! — husband-and-wife comedy team who have been performing together for almost 60 years now. If you somehow missed seeing their recent web series, Stiller & Meara, do yourself a favor and rectify that wrong right now.
