Daniel Radcliffe — now at work on films seven and eight in the Potter franchise — tells the LA Times he will not be involved with Peter Jackson’s upcoming Hobbit movie. Look for him to play 22-year-old artist and photojournalist Dan Eldon in a film called The Journey Is the Destination, due out in 2011; Eldon was stoned to death by an angry Somali mob in 1993.

There is a new, just released book entitled, "The Lord of the Hallows: Christian Symbolism and Themes in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter" which is now available online at http://www.outskirtspress.com/thelordofthehallows. You may follow the links from that web page to order from http://www.amazon.com or http://www.barnesandnoble.com. The book, written by Denise Roper, is being sold as a rare book in Stratford-upon-Avon for $30.00. The U.S. price is $14.95. What a hoot!
I recommend the book "The Lord of the Hallows" by Denise Roper. I especially liked the chapter that deals with free will, life after death, the immortality of the soul, the power of love and self-sacrifice and how the trinity of fantasy geniuses work these themes into their series. I also enjoy the chapter on the unicorn tapestries and the awesome examination of the concept of "horcruxes," a term coined by Rowling but a concept used by Tolkien and writers of ancient mythology, folk lore and fairy tales. I can understand why "The Lord of the Hallows" by Denise Roper is being sold in Stratford-upon-Avon fpr $30.00 when the price in the U.S. is $14.95. Maybe Shakespeare knows something we don't.
