What’s On at Flavorpill: The Links That Made the Rounds in Our Office

Today at Flavorpill, we read David Simon’s take on the Petraeus scandal, as well as some of the former CIA director’s love poems. We learned how to turn our browser into a distraction-free typewriter. We met the Keebler Elves of cannabis. We checked out Popular Science’s annual “Best of What’s New” roundup. We were impressed by this LEGO topographical model of New York City that artist JR Schmidt created based on a pixel-by-pixel rendering of Google Maps satellite imagery. We thought that these bubble wrap “stress release stations” set up by a street artist in Milan were incredibly clever. We watched footage of the invasion of Normandy captured in 16 mm Kodachrome film. We downloaded a new mixtape from Das Racist’s Heems. We got a better look at Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock thanks to this new featurette. And finally, we wondered what the existence of a Honey Boo Boo comic book says about the world we live in. It can’t be good.
