It’s getting cold in our part of the country, but when we look at Fredrik Åkum’s glowing, sun-drenched paintings, we can’t seem to feel the chill at all. The Swedish-born painter’s work, which we spotted over at Beautiful/Decay, feels just like summer to us — or more particularly, that moment when you take off your sunglasses on a blistering day and the world swims in oily light and bright baked colors. Or maybe we’re just feeling nostalgic. Either way, click through to check out Åkum’s summery paintings, and then be sure to head on over to his website to see even more of his work.
