I admire the valuable knowledge you offer to your articles. I can bookmark your blog and feature my kids take a look at up right here generally. I'm fairly sure they are going to be told a number of new stuff here than anyone else!

I agree that there were some key names missed. I too love MIA, but I Don't think she is nearly as influential as NINA SIMONE, also big lover of NEKO CASE, who is one of the most beautiful songwriters of our time and the Queen of country noir and indie music. Also miss PATSY CLINE, CARLY SIMON, TORI AMOS, and The Pretenders

Your list is amusing but but has more holes as a slice of swiss cheese. Not to mention that some of women included are a testiment to your poor judgement. Honestly, no The GoGo's "Beauty and the Beat" but you have M.I.A., Hole and Sarah MccLachlan?

Laura Nyro is my all-time favorite woman in music. As the writer of the most soulful, heartfelt and beautiful music and lyrics, arranger, pianist and player of other instruments, she has and will always be, my heart's desire. The person(s) who compiled this list are probably under 30 and have not been exposed to Laura. I'm glad I was a young person at the time Laura was around and got to follow her whole career and see her perform in person.

My biggest problem is with the placement of M.I.A. at 17. I'm a big M.I.A. fan, but that album is no where near as good or important as many of the records ranked far behind it.

And I agree with almost all of the above, throw some Laura Nyro, Pretenders, Neko Case and some Streisand on there.

Lita Ford? How did the author miss her, yet include Lady Gaga in a list that contains the likes of Aretha Franklin and Joan Baez? This list fails hard.
