Eerie, Hyperrealistic Paintings of Bodies Hidden Beneath Carpets

We’ve all seen movies where the villain, and his or her accomplices, disposes of a body inside a rolled up rug. Spanish artist Antonio Satin, who we learned about on Design You Trust, brings the morbid trope to life in his hyperrealistic paintings of figures hidden under ornate carpets. The decorative tapestries and the mysterious forms beneath them are beautiful and eerie. Satin’s use of shadows adds to the moodiness of the scenes — which feel like a snapshot from a noir thriller. Take a closer look in our gallery.
