I feel that is an interesting point, it made me suppose a bit. Thank you for sparking my thinking cap. Sometimes I get such a lot in a rut that I just feel like a record.

I must admit that both Sleep's "Dopesmoker" and "Holy Mountain" have kicked my stoner ass out of a creative block more than once, and MBV has always been a favorite of mine for waking up the inner muse. Most of the others are strong, diverse choices as well. Nice work! Time to think of my own top ten and get to work myself!

Man, it's a huge relief to hear Chuck Klosterman admit his powers of concentration have waned over time, and so he can no longer read and listen to music simultaneously. I've been having the same problem for the past few years, and now I feel marginally less lame for suffering the perils of aging.

Chuck Klosterman is my favorite non-fiction writer. He is a master of writing about intellectual and seemingly light-weight topics with equal amounts reverence and sarcasm. I love how he listed a hair-metal album like Cinderella's Night Songs and how it has just as much artistic value as any other record.
