4

With year-end best-of lists rolling in from all directions, we’re already knee-deep in premature music nostalgia (can we get a Kanye?!). We’re all for laying out the accolades, but why linger on what was?

With so much to come, we’ve already got sights set squarely on ’09. After the jump, download links to nine killer tracks from next year’s most-anticipated albums. From the look of things, it’s going to be something of a stunner…

YES, dent may. love it. also: wavves should've made the list of bad band names.

1. Just looking at that guy with his sweater & uke makes me puke. I didn't even make it to the song. Not off to a good start.

2. Your only good selection.

3. Hi, my name is Wavves. I can't spell and don't know when distortion goes from sounding cool to just plain shitty.

4. These guys listened to a little too much Pablo Honey-era Radiohead, which isn't even really very good Radiohead.

5. I thought we were reviewing songs form 2009?

6. [no comment]

7. The pedal steel guitar sounds nice. Can't say much for the rest of it.

8. I'm so sick of this guy & his effing whistling.

9. "Give a listen to 2 tracks below and see why he is becoming my Sufjan Stevens of 2008!" Please lets not have another Sufjan Stevens. We all still have a sour taste in our mouths from the pseudo-intellectual gibberish he shoved down our throats a few years back.

In conclusion, 2009 is going to sound like the last 20 years of indie rock. God help us all.

I gotta agree with Cheesehead.

These are songs for '09 i might be FORCED to listen to. I was hoping for bands I'd actually never heard of. This list kinda blows. Sorry! Still got love for the pill though.

DIVERSIFY!

agreed – is the irony of indie(pendent) still lost on you? you can be frightened, and if you're frightened… you can be everything…
