Watch the Super Serious Trailer for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ Now With More Wonder Woman

Since it’s Comic-Con, we’re being inundated with more superhero news than we usually care about, but we can’t deny the appeal of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that was screened today. Super serious pensive looks all around? Check. Ear-piercing dramatic music? Check. You know, the usual. But the thing that grabbed us most about the trailer is our first good look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor exhibits some kind of awkward low talking (per usual, for the actor — and that hair, yikes). We liked Jeremy Irons (Alfred) and Holly Hunter better in David Cronenberg movies. And Ben Affleck is looking and sounding slightly less bro-tastic than he did in that other sneak peek of the movie we got. But Gadot’s Amazon warrior with the indestructible bracelets for days is looking pretty badass and ready for a showdown. After all the backlash over her character, that’s gratifying. And we’ve been promised that she appears in the movie as more than just a prop: “[Wonder Woman] will have a fair amount of screen time and will team up with Batman and Superman for the final battle against an un-named villain who may be working or controlled by Lex Luthor.” We didn’t want to care too much about Zack Snyder’s movie, but Wonder Woman may be swaying us just a bit. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is in theaters on March 25, 2016.
