Playful, Creative Portraits of Pop Culture Icons in Food

Share:

UK-based artist and illustrator Yaseen gives new meaning to the term “mixed media.” In his portraits of artists and icons, whether fictional (Don Corleone), real (Lauryn Hill), or somewhere in between (the Mona Lisa), he uses an unorthodox combination of materials to bring his subjects to life. From pomegranate juice to cocoa powder to tomato sauce, Yaseen prefers food over paint or pencil in this series that renders old favorites in new ways. Click through for a survey of his work.
