“He’s afraid. He knows how far I came to find him”

The second trailer for The Revenant, Alejandro González Iñárritu’s follow-up to his Oscar winning Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), was released this morning. While the first trailer focused more on the cinematography (courtesy of the also Oscar-winning Emmanuel Lubezki), the new trailer reveals more of the dynamic between the principal characters.

The Revenant is a gritty Western “inspired by true events” centered on Hugh Glass (played by Leonard DiCaprio), frontiersman and explorer of the American West during the 19th century. Attacked by a bear and left for dead by his travel companions (costars Tom Hardy,Will Poulter, Domhnall Gleeson), the film follows Glass on his snowy trek toward avenging the betrayal (which seems to be a trend this year).

The Revenant will be released via 20th Century Fox on January 8, 2016 (with a limited release on December 25th, 2015).
