Listen to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Last Christmas” Cover, Guest Starring Lots of Saxophone

The start of the holiday season isn’t the day after Halloween, or even the day after Thanksgiving; it’s the day a major pop star drops their Christmas album and/or single. And now the holiday single has officially begun.

Given her influences, it’s not surprising Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen opted for an ’80s track over holiday tunes of a slightly older vintage. Her version of Wham’s 1985 hit “Last Christmas,” dropped via Twitter, features plenty of synths, Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” charm…and saxophone. Lots of saxophone.
