‘Taraji and Terrence’s White Hot Holidays’ Coming to a Television Near You

On the surface, Bill Murray and the cast of Empire may not have anything in common, and they basically don’t—except now, both are reviving the good ol’ fashioned holiday special in 2015.

A Very Murray Christmas has been hyped for months, but Fox’s entry into the holiday programming game comes as a short-notice surprise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two stars of network television’s biggest hit will co-host Taraji and Terrence’s White-Hot Holidays on December 9th, following up on Empire‘s mid-season finale by airing in its time slot one week later.

There aren’t many details yet, but here’s what we know so far: the special will be an hour long; its hosts will perform a duet; and there will be performances from Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, and more guests who haven’t been announced yet. If the ratings for either Empire itself or NBC’s recent string of live musicals are any judge, either you or someone you know will be watching.
