Matt Damon, Julianne Moore to Join George Clooney’s New Coen Bros-Written Film

Hollywood Royalty is a weird thing in 2015, with the public’s constantly shifting tastes and the especially fragile nature of celebrity. But still, it’s safe to say that George Clooney is royalty. It’s safer still to say that Clooney’s best buds the Coen Brothers are, too, so it’s no surprise that the duo wrote Clooney’s next directorial feature, Suburbicon. In fact, all of Clooney’s famous buddies seem to be latching on to this project.

Deadline is reporting that Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, and Josh Brolin have all joined the film, about which we know very little other than that it’s set in the 1950s and is a drama (probably in the suburbs, given the title!) that kind of has the same vibe as 1984’s Blood Simple, which was the Coens’ directorial debut.

No word on a release date, but you can catch Clooney and Brolin in the Coens’ Hail Caesar! next February.
