I’ve just finished listening to all of the streams and came up with this:

Why did David Bowie, Wheezer, Julianna Hatfield and Chocolate Genius play their music?

So we wouldn’t have to.

I know “everything is derivative” but whatever happened to taking risks. Just because performers are not in the mainstream (or even shun it) we should not let them of the hook if we want innovation. We hould challenge them to challenge us.

Anyone who digs Califone is OK in my book! In the process of checking these out, thanks already for the Swan Lake tip, which also led me to Sunset Rubdown (I love Wolf Parade). And I don’t at all get Flaming Lips (never have) nor Dirty Projectors neither. Great post, thanks.
