Happy hippie folk troupe Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros prove they are more than a wail and a tambourine in your stereo with this absorbing short film. One clip from a 12-part movie musical called SALVO!, “Kisses Over Babylon” involves desert scenery, murder, two detectives from Ursa Minor, a chain gang, a bacchanal, a jail break, and lots more of Sharpe’s infectious, frenzied California folk rock. Bonus: see if you can spot best-friend-who-had-a-wedding Dermot Mulroney in a cameo as the prison warden.
