Watch: Rosamund Pike Is Possessed by a Flying Sphere in New Massive Attack Video

Music, man, it’ll blow your mind, especially if you’re Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike in this new Massive Attack and Young Fathers video for “Voodoo in My Blood.” In it, she enters a sparse underground complex and becomes hypnotized by a flying gold sphere, which proceeds to control her body, pummeling her in the process. The song does have voodoo in the title, I guess.

Taken from Massive Attack’s recent Ritual Spirit EP, “Voodoo in My Blood” is a propulsive piece of trip hop, so it makes perfect sense that the video would be so intense. It gets a little trying, watching Pike as she slams up against walls, yells, laughs, cries, and just generally tortures herself.

The video is directed by Ringan Ledwidge, who seems to be new to the music video world but is a real veteran of the ad world. In a press release, Pike said “Am I involved?… Someone said the girl in the video looks like me. I have been to the Joe Strummer subway. I did have a strange encounter there once.” Can’t confirm or deny that the Joe Strummer subway is where this thing was filmed, but take a look for yourself below.
