Watch: Weird Stuff Happens (Of Course) in the Trailer for Tim Burton’s ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’

Tim Burton is back with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, a new film from 20th Century Fox. It’s slated to take over theaters worldwide this fall, and its trailer was just released this morning.

When one friend looks at another while sitting in a boat in the middle of the ocean, and says, “Come with me. There’s a place I go when I want to be alone,” you’d hardly expect the next move to be swimming to the bottom of said ocean, only to land in an abandoned ship. Especially not when the abandoned ship turns into a house (of sorts) after your friend uses her air-breathing powers to clear out all of the remaining water — you know, for oxygen purposes.

But, this is a Tim Burton film after all, and such peculiarities — pun totally intended — are a dime a dozen. And like any Tim Burton film, Miss Peregrine’s home opens up an entirely new world — a “secret refuge” as it is described in the press release.

Judging from the trailer, this movie promises peak Tim Burton-ishness: it includes an invisible boy that plays soccer, a pair of mummy twins, and even a cute little girl that can gobble down a giant turkey leg in a matter of seconds using only the large gaping mouth coming from the back of her neck.

The film, which stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson, will hit theaters on September 30, 2016. Watch the trailer below.
